STAINU makes Indonesia's cultural performances run successfully in Morocco

The students of Jakarta's Nahdltul Ulama High Institute for Islamic Studies (STAINU) who are following the International Class Program at the University of Ibn Thufail, Kenitra, took part in enlivening and making Indonesia's arts and cultural performances run successfully in Morocco.<>

The event was held at the auditorium of the University of Hassan II, Casablanca, and was part of the expanded collaboration between the university and the Rabat's Indonesian Embassy on Sunday (17/3).

The event was opened by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco H Tosari Widjaja. She said the relationship between Indonesia and Morocco had been intertwined for many years.

Tosari said that previously there had been a seminar taking up issues on how the two countries could build a brigde of civilization in the future. present as speaker at the occosion was Prof. Dr. Mariam Ait Ahmed who is also the President of the Moroccan-Indonesian Association.

"The purpose of such cultural performances by the university is to strengthen the relationship between Morocco and Indonesia in various fields such as politics, science, culture, civilization, economics and so on," she said.

The arts and cultural performances featured were, among others, tambourine music, saman dance, umbrella dance, peacock dance, and martial arts which were played by Indonesian students in Morocco who are members of the Morocco's Indonesian Student Association (PPI) in collaboration with the STAINU students.

At the same time, the students of the University Hassan II also a fashion show featuring Indonesian traditional batik. The visitors were also treated with a variety of Indonesia's traditional culinaries.

The event was also attended by local and home staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Rabat and rector of the University of Hassan II.
