Jakarta, NU Online
The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) lamented some action agenda often falsely citing NU clerics (kiai) and organization. Profiteering certain names and organizations in political-nuanced actions is considered unhealthy for being able to trigger slander among groups.

"We do remind, profiteering certain names or organizations without confirmation by making a greater use of them has  criminal implications. All this should be stopped," the chairman of NU engaged in legal affairs Robikin Emhas said here on Monday (20/2).

The alumnus of Pesantren Miftahul Huda Gading Malang who is also an advocate then pointed the case of profiteering the name of Rais' Aam NU KH Ma'ruf Amin. The latest case is related to the 212 action plan which will be held on Tuesday in front of the House of Representative building.

"In some memes and broadcast labelled the 2nd Defending Islam 212 having widely been circulated, there is falsely cited the name of KH. Ma'ruf Amin in the first place of leaders who will be present," he explained.

Knowing the supreme leader of NU falsely cited, Robikin said he had confirmed the truth that Kiai Ma'ruf did know nothing about the planned action.

"Here I will clarify that Kiai Ma'ruf as the Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and the Supreme Leader (Rais' Aam) of NU, did know nothing and will not attend the action," he said.

Robikin hoped whoever the initiator and organizer of the 212 action not to use the name of KH. Ma'ruf Amin as a figure winning the mass heart and expected there would be no longer the name profiteering cases.

"I ask that the name of NU is not misused. Because Nahdlatul Ulama also knwe nothing about the action," he said (Fathoni/Masdar)
