Commemorating World Environment Day on July 4, the Jember's Ansor Cadres Communication Forum (FOSKA), in cooperation with the Ansor Branch Board of Kencong and a NGO La Tansa, planted 1000 trees in Ajung subdistrict, Jember district. Deploying some 250 FOSKA and Anosr cadres, the 1000-tree planting program was held from Friday to Saturday (6-7/7).<>
The opening ceremony of the program with the theme "Youth Service Camp for Saving Nature and Environment" was held after Friday prayers in the area of Ajung district, and started by singing Indonesian national anthem “Indonesia Raya”.
Present also at the occassion were representatives of MWCNU, Muslimat, Fatayat, IPNU-IPPNU, Council of Sub-District Leaders (Muspika) of Ajung, political party leaders, CSOs and community leaders.
Chairman of FOSKA, Ahmad Nasikin, said participants of the youth camp were required to follow the entire series of activities, namely, planting 1000 trees and cleaning and painting some 20 places of worship and cemetery area.
