The Gusdurian (the sympathizers of the late KH Abdurrahman Wahid, popularly known as Gus Dur) Lampung and alumni of the Post-National Examination Learning Center 2016 of Ansor Youth Movement Way Kanan, Lampung, initiated the so-called Gerakan Sedekah Oksigen (oxygen care movement) for a number of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) in Way Kanan. The leader of Pesantren Al-Falakhuss'adah, Tanjung Serupa, Pakuan Ratu, Kiai Zainal Ma'arif called it a very useful movement.

"This is not a trivial thing, because it would be incredible. For the pesantren (circles) and the surrounding community, the oxygen charity is very helpful. In addition to addressing the pesantren economy, our environment is also in need of greening," Kiai Zainal told NU Online in Blambangan Umpu, Thursday (21/7).

According to him, the movement could make a positive environmental impact for being able to be used as such an environment a learning for the community.

"The environment needs to be empowered. The more the land is utilized, the more value and positive results are obtained. It is a very helpful activity, real, and also can serve as an example for others," Kiai Zainal said.

On the sidelines of the Halal Bihalal meeting held on Wednesday (20/7), the Ansor cadres of Pakuan Ratu and Negara Batin planted some 65 fruit trees in Pesantren Al-Falakhuss'adah, consisting of Thailand mangos and jackfruits.

"The economic movement (harakat) is important for (Ansor) cadres so that in the future they could address the need of the organization. This tree planting could eventually evolve into other forms," Chairman of the Ansor Pakuan ratu Bakti Ghozali added.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Ansor Negara Batin Hozin Munir said that, in the near future his organization would be planting trees as a results of oxygen charity movement in Pesantren Darul Ulum led by Kiai Bahyuni.

"This economic movement (harakat) is very important. In addition to getting the material at harvest time, another benefit gained is a healthy environment following the increasing numbers of trees," Hozin said, appreciating the program supported by the Society of Indonesian Environmental Journalists (SIEJ) Lampung.
