After attending a youth organization coaching, the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Pesantren Tinggi Darul Ulum University (Unipdu) Jombang, East Java, is determined to guard the seriousness of the youth in serving the nation.<>

"Together with a number of youth and students organizations  from various colleges in Jombang, we finally agreed to issue a  declaration," the president of Unipdu BEM Lutfi Riyadi told NU Online here on Tuesday (18/3).

The declaration consists of many things. "The first is all youth organizations will always be consistent in guarding the dynamics of the nation's change," he said.

The second is a second is all youth organizations are ready to take part in guarding the 2014 election in their respective environments.

"This is a manifestation to love our country and commitment to change for the nation procedurally," he said.

And to increase the capacity and skills of students as future leaders, the declaration also states there will be more productive scientific trainings. 

"It's important as a stepping-stone to take part in helping empower the community," he said, adding that "as an integral part of society, we also expect the youth not to just stand idly against reality and social dynamics that exist today." 

Moreover, ahead of the 2014 general elections that will be held nationwide. 

"The political Awareness of citizens should be consolidated as part of efforts to actively participate in the selection of leadership at both local and national levels," he said.

While the last point of the declaration is that there will be a follow-up of economic self-sufficiency program focused on youth organization. 

"Due to economic self-sufficiency for the activists, there will expectedly be such an independence in taking measures to respond to the existing social reality," he concluded.

Since Saturday to Sunday (15-16/3) and the Jombang's Department of Youth and Sports held a training for the nation's youth regeneration. The event was held at the Wonosalam's Training Center by involving youth and activists of intra and extra campus organizations in Jombang.
