The Astrology Committee of Nahdlatul Ulama (LFNU) announced that the new moon marking the first day of Muharram could be seen this evening, so that tomorrow Wednesday (14/10) the Muslims of Indonesia will enter in the Islamic new year 1437 Hijri.

"Happy Hijri New Year 1437 H. May the grace and blessings are always with us, in giving our best to the people and the nation. Many thanks for the Nahdliyin participation," Kiai Ghazalie said.
The results are in line with the LFNU's predictions. Based on data from the NU's almanac 2015, the new moon in a supine position is with a height 03055'09.666'' above the horizon on Tuesday (13/10).
Thus Muslims in the country could initiate and hold a number of rituals in the Islamic new year and throughout the sacred month such as fasting, dhikr and prayers. (masdar)
