The Chairperson of East Java's chapter of Ma'arif NU, Noor Shodiq Askandar explained that the quality of NU members (Nahdliyin's) education must get serious attention. Therefore there must be an empowerment effort by utilizing the potential possessed by the Nahdliyin themselves.
"This is a form of evaluation of the journey for the development of quality education under the auspices of the Maarif NU institution," he said while giving debriefing on the sidelines of a workshop attended by Ma'arif NU teachers in Nganjuk, East Java, Saturday (17/11) .
Noor Shodiq did support the idea regarding the need for an achievement house for NU members who were studying. The achievement house is a place to accommodate NU children who have various achievements in the world of education.
"There will be no more NU members who have achievements but are neglected," he said, adding that they should be supported and empowered, "moreover there are still NU people who do not attend school."
Noor Shodiq who recently won the 2018 Santri Award for his role in dealing with Nahdliyin independence and entrepreneurship said the achievement house would later also be a form of accelerating any purposeful programs in improving the quality of education for NU members and their empowerment efforts.
The Vice Rector of Islamic University of Malang further explained, to build and develop the program, cooperation and synergy with other institutions, and efforts to optimize the resource potential of NU members are a must.
Meanwhile, H Zaenal Arifin, chairman of Ma'arif NU Nganjuk agreed and expressed his appreciation for the idea.
"The quality of Nahdliyin's education and empowering efforts are indeed very necessary to accelerate the development of quality education," Zaenal said. (Khoirul / Masdar)
