NU Karangawen holds blood donation camp

Splendor and magnificence on the NU's 87th anniversary ​​simultaneously felt and echoed across the country. It was proved by the various activities organized by the NU boards ranging from the village to central levels.<>

Subdistrict-level NU board of Kangaawen, Demak, for instance, in the momentous event, it held such activities as, religious gathering to pray for the dead, memorizing the entire quran, holding blood donation camp in collaboration with the Community Health Center and the Indonesian Red Cross of Demak. For the peak of commemoration, there were shalawat recitals and a sermon at the Karangawen's NU office on Saturday (2/2).

Chairman of Kangawen's NU KH Nasron on the sidelines of the commemoration called on his staff members to materialize any purposeful program in society, not just a slogan or jargon so that Nahdliyin (NU followers) would be more comfortable and secure.

"We hold this (commemoration) to demonstrate the NU's service to the ummah (people) either those who are dead by praying for them or those who are still living by holding blood donation camp," Kiai Nasron said.

Meanwhile, chairman of the advisory board (syuriah) of the Karangawen's NU KH Hasan Mustamid said the religious social activities were aimed at promoting the importance of togetherness and caring to others by holding the blood donation camp for it is needed especially for those who are very critical in the fight of among others through blood donation is needed because for people who are very critical in the fight of their life.

At the sametime, chairman of NU Branch Board of Demak, KH Musadad Syarif, called on all NU boards and organizations to be more mature, especially in dealing with things that are not in line with the teachings of Aswaja (Ahulussunnah wal jamaah) following the increasing number of deviant groups lately.

"Hopefully in its older age, NU will compact and be more mature, more wise in dealing with all things, both the state and the Islamic-styled schools of thought," he said.

Present at the occasion were syuriah of the NU Regional Board of Central Java KH Rofi'i Masyhuri, chairman of Demak's Ansor Youth Movement, Maskuri and his entourage, Karangawen's sub district administrators and board members of subdistrict-level NU organizations across Demak.
