STAINU Jakarta-Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia sign MoU

The Nahdlatul Ulama Institute of Islamic Studies (STAINU) Jakarta signed a memorandum of understanding with the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia on strategic areas in the academic world.<>

Chairman of STAINU HM. Mujib Qulyubi, MH said, both STAINU and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia would cooperate in such areas as lecturer and student exchanges, joint research cooperation, the publication of scientific journals at each college and so on.

"As any other inter-university cooperation so far, we also will do the same, work in the field of human resource development that includes lecturer and student exchanges, researches, as well as publishing the results of research activities that have been carried out in the respective college to be published in international journals," he explained.

On that occasion, the Dean of the faculty of Islamic dakwah Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Prof. Dr.  Mohd. Nasran Mohammad expressed his happiness for being able to establish cooperation with one of the colleges under the auspices of Nahdlatul Ulama, the Indonesia's largest Muslim organization.

Nasran added that cooperation in the field of human resource development could be built by the two parties, especially in regard with the strengthening of Islamic understanding and researches, saying that, "Islam in Malaysia is still one family and in the same breath with Islam in Indonesia."

In terms of the cooperation undertaken by STAINU Jakarta and the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in the near future, STAINU will invite professors from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to deliver orations to STAINU students.

In the MoU signing that took place on February 28 at 15:30 Malaysian time, present also was chairman of Akwalus Syaksiyyah study program Irfan Hasanuddin, MA, and several ranks.
