Again, NU Cares Lombok team distributed aid to the people affected by earthquake on Wednesday (8/22) afternon. The team was representation of NU Kendal and NU Care-LAZISNU Kendal, central Java that was leaded by head of NU Care-LAZISNU Kendal, Khusnul Huda.

 

The distribution area located at three areas.  First, at Munggulsari village, Bayan district, north Lombok. For the second and third point, located at Pawang Kunyit 1 and Pawang Kunyit 2 village.

Khusnul Huda explained, the donation consist of water reservoirs, gensets, bottled waters, groceries, toiletries, rice, and carpets. He expected that the donation could be used to the refugee in order to lighten the burden in the refugee camps.

“They are still in trauma backing home. So the aid is very needed,” he said.

Attend at handover of the donation was local religious leader H Muhammad Ilham; head of the village of Pawangkunyit1 Zakaria; and Pawang Kunyit 2 H Azhar.

The distribution area of the donation was a remote area. NU Care team had to drive for about three hours by car. The journey hampered by falling trees caused by landslide. The landslide was not caused by eartquake or rain, but, because the structure of soil alike sand, so that it was easy to collapse. 

The evacuation areas located at hills that is barren. The condition caused the refugee got difficulty to access clean water. The location was near to the beach where many people avacuated since first earthquake at Juli, 29, 2018. (Kendi Setiawan)
