TGB: Christianization issues harm other Christian

The Governor of NTB (West Nusa Tenggara) TGH Muhammad Zainul Madji or who is familiarly called Tuan Guru Bajang (TGB) said, christianization issues that was carried out in the refugee areas caused by Lombok earthquake could harm others Christian who came to Lombok with sincerity.

That was stated by TBG when receiving visit from NU Peduli (NU Care) team at the governor hall, on Sunday (9/2).

He mentioned, there were three videos spread out in public that suspected try to do christianization  to people in the refugee areas caused by Lombok earthquake. Of the three videos spread out, two videos were hoaxes, while another indicated to spread Christianity teaching. 

In fact, in that video, seen that residents of the refugee area were Moslem as proven by veil that they wore.

“And not only Christians or Chatolics who harmed, but also Hindus or Buddhists. Public will be suspicious to other religions that giving aid,” said TGB.

Therefore, TGB asked all parties who came to Lombok to help people in the name of humanity. Post-disaster handling as joint work between government and community organization, and other groups. 

On this occasion, NU Peduli team reported to governor what has been done to help people who affected by earthquake. First, NU Peduli made need assesment, then distributed logistics, built tents and emergency mushalla, as well as health and psychosocial services. 

During recovery phase, NU Peduli was distributing logistics aid and basic needs to affected people; helping people to break down and cleaning up damaged houses, as well as building temporary housings. 

Governor appreciated NU Peduli actions. He said that he often saw NU volunteers in his visit in the field.
