Ansor to sow seeds of NU-preserved values in villages

The Ansor Youth Movement of Wanasari, Central Java, held tarawih prayers from one place to another (tarawih keliling) in villages as part of cultivating relationships among fellow Muslims and disseminating the teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja).

The religious activity were held from 5 - 21 Ramadan. On the 9th day of Ramadan, it was held at Nurul Hidayah mosque, Lengkong village, Wanasari, Brebes.

Bayu Rohmawan, the chairman of Ansor Wanasari explained that this activity was a routine agenda held during the holy month of Ramadan, saying that he had deployed the preachers to give a seven-minute sermon (kuliah tujuh menit) in the series of the tarawih prayers.

The preachers, he added, had participated in the Aswaja Young Preacher courses held by the Ansor Wanasari before the fasting month. They are encouraged to have the Islamic mission of preaching littered fully with tolerant (tasamuh), balanced (tawazun), moderate (moderate), values and enjoining good and forbidding wrong in accordance with the principle of Nahdlatul Ulama.

"We do expect the propagation mission of Ansor could be understood by the people in addituion being cultivating relationships between Ansor members and community," Bayu said.

This activity was followed by all members of Ansor Wanasari and in this year it was held in 9 villages Wanasari subdistrict such as Glonggong, Wanasari, Lengkong, Kupu, Dumeling, Siasem, Klampok, Siwungkuk and Sawojajar. (Masdar)
