Painting is one thing, while walking is another one. Many people can paint, but it is difficult to find those who do it while walking. But, Ki Joko Wasis is willing and able to do it at once.<>

According to Ki Joko Wasis, the first moment of painting while walking was on a carnival of the Jalan Affandi inauguration in one of the streets in the city of Yogyakarta. He with his musical group called Para Tukang (the artisans), participated in the carnival.

"It was a musical group consisting of many artisans, there there are some engaged in silk screening, principally they are artisans. There is also a doctor, but he was the handyman too for doing injections (to his patients)," he told NU Online here on Friday (14/11).

He said that the organizing committee just gave Rp 500 thousand. "To rent the costumes, the amount of money is not enough, we (then decide to) wear casual clothes."

Wasis said that the idea to paint while walking was in memory of Affandi who is also a painter, adding that the remaining amount of money was mostly used to buy painting equipment.

At the carnival, Para Tukang were singing and dancing, while Ki Joko Wasis was painting. As he was difficult to use a paint brush, his fingers were touching the canvas directly. While the canvas itself was held by his friends in turn. At that time he painted "One Hundred Affandi's Faces".
