"We want Indonesia to take the first step forward to officially confirm about the Khojali civilians genocide by the Armenia," said Karayev here on Thursday as quoted by Antara news agency.

During the discussion at the House of Representative Building in Jakarta, Karayev said Indonesia as the biggest Muslim population should guard the implementation of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Parliamentary Association`s resolution Number 15-PE/7-CONF in Palembang that was asked all parliamentary members to condemn the Armenian aggression to Azerbaijan and officially confirmed the genocide in Khojali.

The Deputy of Commission I of the House Representative, Ramadhan Pohan, said Indonesia would be contributing actively on creating the World`s peace that based on Constitution Law 1945, hence the House of Representatives should support the peace in Azerbaijan.

"We can not let the tolls be increased in that conflict," he said.

Therefore, Ramadhan noted the result of the public discussion related to the conflict in Azerbaijan would be a recommendation for the House of Representatives, particularly Commission I, to arrange the peace efforts.

"Through the inter-parliamentary cooperation, Indonesian House of Representatives will push the peace building in Azerbaijan and ask the Indonesian Government to play more active role in creating the peace efforts," he said.

In 1992, the Armenian Army invaded its neighbor, Azerbaijan, with an excuse to help the civilians. But, the invasion was continuing until now where about 30 to 40 percent of Azerbaijan`s territory had been occupied by Armenia.

Both Azerbaijan and Armenia were the fraction states of the Union of Soviet in which 90 percent of Azerbaijan is Muslim and its neighbor`s majority is Christian Orthodox.
