NU chairman inaugurates Sudan's NU radio station

Chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) for Foreign Affairs HM Ir Iqbal Sullam Tuesday inaugurated the Radio Nahdlatul Ulama station at the office of the Special Branch Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCINU) of Sudan.<>

The inauguration was attended by the treasurer of Lajnah Ta'lif wan Nasry (LTN) of Nahdlatul Ulama H Muhammad Said Aqil, Nahdliyin (NU followers) and two Sudan's Pertamina officials.

The inauguration was opened by the LTN chairman of PCINU Taufiq Zubaidi and followed by remarks that are made by NU chairman, treasurer and chairman of lawmaking body (rais syuriyah) of LTN of PCINU.

Ir. HM. Sullam Iqbal in his speech said, "NU is very happy and fully supports the existence of Radio NU station."

"Hopefully the radio can be a means of dakwa (propagation) and education for residents and NU students in Sudan in disseminating the teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah," he said.

The LTN rais syuriyah of PCINU H. Mirwan Ahmad Taufiq said, the Sudan's LTN had an important role as a vehicle to publish the works and news related to the Sudan's NU activities.

"Thank God the current period the Sudan's LTN has grown for having a radio station as a means of both cultivating relationship (silaturrahim) and learning," he said.

In the same time the NU treasurer expected the Sudan's NU to further increase communication with the Central Board of NU in Jakarta, especially LTN NU.
