Gus Mus teaches three kitab kuning during Ramadhan

The supreme leader (Rais Aam) of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH A Musthofa Bisri, popularly known as Gus Mus, taught three classical religious texts (kitab kuning) during the holy month of Ramadhan this year. The three kitab kuning are, among others, Idhotun Nasiin, nadhom Burdah and hadits Arbain Nawawi.

Gus Mus taught the Idhotun Nasiin after the Tarawih prayer and two other kitab kuning on different occasions at his pesantren Raudlatut Thalibin, Rembang, Central Java.

Gus Mus taught nadhom Burdah after the Fajr prayer in addition to teaching the hadith Arbain Nawawi after the Asr prayer.

One of the organizing committees of the pesantren's annual religious gathering explained that he had prepared the books that will be taught by the NU prominent figure and are held every day during Ramadhan.

"The organizing committee has prepared a schedule given to the students (santri) who want to participate in the Ramadhan gathering. We also sell three books taught by Abah Mus, and other eight books that will be taught by other clerics kiai in Rembang."

There are also six other books taught in the pesantren such as Risalah Ahlussunah Waljamaah Syeikh Hasyim Asy'ari taught by KH Yahya Cholil Staquf after the Zuhr prayer, Risalah Al-Asror fis Sholati was Shaumi waz Zakati wal hajji taught by KH Makin Soimuri after the recitation of Idhatun Nasiin.

Some other books taught in the pesantren ere Waraqah by H Bisri Adib Khattani; Tafsir Yasin by Kiai Zainal; and Alfiyah by KH Syarofudin, he said, adding that the local community could participate in the religious gatherings during the holy month of Ramdhan. (masdar)
