LAZISNU of East Java welcomed reading parks of Jombang LAZISNU branch

Head of the institution of Amil Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah Nahdlatul Ulama (LAZISNU) Jombang branch initiated establishment of reading parks in a number of mushallas, mosques, and qur’anic schools (TPQ). This action got positive response from the leader of east Java LAZISNU provincial level.
Head of east Java LAZISNU H Noor Shodiq Askandar apreciated the establishment of reading parks. He said that those was a concrete action to push community, particularly young generation, to be more fond of reading.
“Good. This is new creation that give benefits,” he said to head of Jombang LAZISNU branch Ahmad Zainudin via WhatsApp (WA) to response the establishment of reading parks, on Monday (8/27).
For the millennial generations, the presence of reading park was considered very important. Young generation could enrich their knowledge in some aspects. Therefore, they would be ready to face challenges in the future.
“Reading parks is very important to young generation,’ he added.
Based on data that was compiled by NU Online, the program of reading parks establishment by LAZISNU of Jombang recently was for second time since 2017. This program was part of the mandates resulted in the last working meeting (Muskercab).
According to the last working meeting, in the period from August 2018 to July 2019, LAZISNU Jombang obliged to establish reading parks in 30 mosques, mushallas, and qur'anic schools in 10 subbranch or district area of NU.
Step by step, the process of establishment has been started since a few days ago. But, particularly for this week, LAZISNU is focusing to collect books. For the next week, they will be ready to establish reading parks in some location that has been stated in the working meeting.
LAZISNU also receive books donation from people to support the program.
As previously reported, many parties in Kabuh district asked LAZISNU to establish a reading park. They have coordinated to local subbranch NU. This aspiration has been delivered to LAZISNU. LAZISNU ensured that the reading park would establish in Kabuh in the next week after process of book collecting finished. (Syamsul Arifin/Ibnu Nawawi)
