Minister: Indonesia proposes hajj quota of 180 percent in 2014

Minister of Religious Affairs, Suryadharma Ali will propose Hajj quota of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to 180 percent next year. The proposal refers to the 20 percent of quota reduction due to developement in Mecca Grand Mosque in Saudi Arabia is still underway.
"Request of this additional quota is responded positively by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by saying insya Allah (if God's willing)," Ali said here recently as quoted by republika.co.id.
Ali admitted that hajj's waiting list was getting longer every year as interest of pilgrims which was also increasing. After registering to perform the pilgrimage, a hajj pilgrim-to-be must wait for years before he or she goes to Saudi to perform the ritual.
