Chairwoman of the Muslimat NU Khofifah Indar Parawansa said, in coming 2025-2035 "Indonesia is expected to experience problems with the increasing number of human population because productive-age people are higher than their own age".<>

According to Khofifah, this fact is encouraging because it will increase the productivity of our nation, but on the other hand it will also face a lot of homeworks. For example, sexual crimes against children ranging from incest and pedophilia (sexual crimes against children) and trafficking.

"The assumption is that if children were 5 years old today, then in 2025 , they were 24 years old," she said at the National Working Meeting at Multipurpose Building of Hajj dormitory Pondok Gede, Jakarta, on Wednesday (28/5).

She said with the assumption they would have completed bachelor's degree, even master's one. At that time Indonesia should have gained various achievements and competitive advantages.

Muslimat NU,Khofifah said, called on all parties to reflectively question, how many children are psychologically disturbed till their future adulthood?

"God willing Muslimat NU is ready to help find solutions along with other elements of the nation," she said.

Similarly with the other nation's homeworks. Khofifah mentioned, there had now been some 40 percent of children under age 19 getting pregnant out of wedlock, including the issue of increasing abortions.

"As reported by the media, having an abortion in one district in Sumenep, its price is Rp 15 to 20 thousand," she explained.

"Once again, Muslimat NU is ready with other elements of the nations to find solutions (to the problems)," she said, adding that  "Mulsimat NU have currently conducted reproductive health trainings for adolescents in pesantren in Java and outside Java."

The Muslimat NU's national meeting was opened by Vice President Boediono. Present on the occasion were the Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Chairman of NU KH Said Aqil Siroj, Vice Chairman of NU KH As'ad Said Ali, Chairman of Ansor Youth Movement Nusron Wahid, and Chairwoman of Fatayat NU Ida Fauziyah.
