NU chairman explains importance of journalism

The Nahdlatul Ulama Students Association (IPNU) in collaboration with the Kompas daily held a journalism training program for three days (17-19 / 2) in Pesantren Ekonomi Darul Uchwah, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.
Chairman of the Indonesia's largest Muslim organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH Marsudi Syuhud said that he was , Sunday (19/2), when closing the event expressed his excitement over the convening of journalism training, saying that many people could become world leaders because of their broad interesting of journalism.
He said that those becoming leaders but never participating in journalism training could easily be identified if they had to meet with journalists.
But, he added, those participating in journalism training would have no excessive worrying for being capable of being calm, having brilliant ideas, especially in responding to any critical situation.
The importance of journalism for someone because it could help him achieve success to become a prominent figure or leader, he said.
