NU launches Cipta NUsantara syaria mutual fund

The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in cooperation with with the PT Ciptadana Asset Management (CAM) launched the so-called Reksa Dana Cipta NUsantara Syariah Berimbang (Cipta NUsantara Balanced Syaria Mutual Fund) at the Jakarta's SCBD building on Friday (17/6).

"On account of this cooperation, NU seeks to encourage the growth of the balanced Islamic capital market industry solely for the interests of the people welfare," said General Chairman of NU KH Said Aqil Siroj, popularly known as Kang Said, adding that NU had the potential of abundant human resources. Reportedly NU has some 90 million members comprising 90,000 branches throughout the country and 14 branches abroad.

The Islamic investment product, according to Kang Said, will help NU in organizing its activities in addition to providing services in such fields as religion, education, health, economics, and others that are beneficial for society at large.

Meanwhile, Head of Marketing and Business Develpoment of PT Ciptadana Asset Management (CAM), Indrawan Rahardja said that his company had experienced since 1991, especially in helping other parties to invest or run business in Indonesia.

"We have experience in helping investors achieve investment goals through quality products and best services," Indrawan said.

He explained that currently CAM had managed some 17 mutual funds consisting of 14 conventional mutual funds and 3 Islamic ones with total assets amounted to some Rp 2.6 trillion.

Present at the launch were General Chairman of Lawmaking Body (Rais Aam) of NU KH Ma'ruf Amin, Deputy Rais Aam KH Miftahul Akhyar, Chairman of NU H Marsudi Syuhud, and the leaders of PT Ciptadana Asset Management. (Masdar)
