Islam-based National Awakening Party (PKB) has offered media tycoon Hary Tanoesoedibyo the opportunity to lead the party's board of patrons.<>
PKB chairman and Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday that he had officially forwarded the offer to Hary, following the latter's decision to quit the National Democratic (NasDem) Party earlier this week.
"We have asked him [Hary] to join us. He would become the chairman of our board of patrons," Muhaimin said as quoted by The Jakarta Post.
He added that the daughter of former President Abdurrahman "Gusdur" Wahid, Yenny Wahid, was also offered to the chance to join the PKB.
Hary previously announced his resignation from Nasdem over a rift with Nasdem's founder and chairman-to-be Surya Paloh.
