Chief of supreme council (rais aam) the central board of Nahdlatul Ulama KH Ma’ruf Amin said, he always obeys organizational rules. The statement was said related to his position after he has been being vice president candidate paired with Joko Widodo in presidential election 2019.
The statement was delivered by vice chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama H Robikin Emhas, after accompanying general chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama KH Said Aqil Siroj, discussed that condition with KH Ma’ruf Amin at PBNU Building, on Tuesday (8/14).
“I obey organizational rules consistently,” said Robikin, quoted the statement from Kiai M’aruf Amin.
Robikin explained, NU has sent representatives to meet with prominent or and senior ulemas in the NU’s community to explain NU’s position related to current political situation.
He added, joint meeting will be held to discuss the position of rais aam after Kiai Ma’ruf come home from hajj pilgrimate. The meeting wiil be followed by mustasyar (adviser) syuriyah (supreme council), and tanfidziyah (executive council)
As it is known, the double position has been ruled in the statutes and bylaws of NU decided at the 33rd muktamar (general conference) in Jombang (2015), at article 51 paragraf 6 chapter XVI Double Position, about chief prohibition of double position
Furthermone, in the chapter XV regarded intertemporal position at article 48 is: “If chief of supreme council unable to run the duty permanenly, vice chief of supreme council will be acting as chief of supreme council
More detailed rules has been determined in the national conference (konbes) and ulemas meeting (munas) 2017 in Lombok west Nusa Tenggara at November, 23-27 at articles 8,9, and 10, chapter IV about Double Position in the Commitee of Nahdlatul Ulama with political position. (Mukafi Niam)
