The importance to write a history in the viewpoint of santri

Nusantara are very rich with intellectual legacies. Since long time ago, Ulemas have written books in the some scholarly subjects. however, such matters have not been studied.

Head of the Islam Nusantara undergraduate program of Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia university (Unusia) Jakarta, Ginanjar Sya’ban said an importance of national movement to create a new generation, namely, santri who are researchers as well as academics or scholars and academics who are santri.

“I think that must be a national movement to maintain the intellectual heritage as part of our unconscious,” he said when giving lecture at Islam Nusantara Center (INC) Ciputat, south Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday (9/1).
 
Even, until now, there has not found manuscript legacy Demak kingdom. Therefore, he, who is also director of INC said the importance to establish research teams to trace its existence. 

“It is must be formed to search the physical Demak legacy, not just artifact such as mosque, but also intellectual papers,” he said. 

This was, according to him, could be a recommendation to deputy governor of central Java H Taj Yasin MZ. “We are santri. Just create programs,” he said. It has part of the national identity that must be known.

Ulil Abshar Abdalla strengthen the proposal. According to him, the viewpoint of santri must be used in the history writing. 

“Very important to write the history in the viewpoint of santri,” he said.
