Nahdlatul Ulama Committee of Zakat, Infaq and Shadaqah (LAZIZ-NU) has now prepared 40.000 lebaran packages for disaster victims in the country of ours. The packages would be purposefully distributed at the end of the holy month of Ramadhan following the coming of this year’s Idul Fitri Holiday.
“We are now collecting zakat from the rich men to be distributed in the form of lebaran package to disaster’s victims,” said the Chairman of the LAZIZ-NU, Prof Dr Fathur Rahman Rouf to NU Online here on Thursday (28/9).
The lebaran packages consisting of cooking oil, rice, sugar, flour, egg and sarong would be expectedly comfortable for the victims following the recent idul fitri holiday.
The West Java’s NU prominent man also called on all Muslims especially NU followers (nahdliyin) to distribute their zakat, infaq, and shadaqah through the LAZIZ-NU.
“We will disseminate brochures at mosques and other public areas. Not only that, we will also cooperate with mass media to socialize the program. We really want to call on people to comfortably distribute zakat, infaq, and shadaqah,” Fathur added. (rif)
