Ansor-RCTI to help Mabarot orphanage and Krapyak Islamic boarding school

Ansor Youth Movement (PG Ansor) in cooperation with one of Indonesia’s private television stations RCTI has assisted the victims of last May’s quake hitting Yogyakarta by reconstructing an orphanage of Mabarot Orphan Foundation in Daraman, Sri Martani, Piyungan, Bantul, Yogyakarta.
The reconstruction of the seven-room-building financed by television viewers through a program called as RCTI Care Fund was direcly installed by the General Chairman of GP Ansor and also Minister for Underdeveloped Regions Saefullah Yusuf, accompanied by RCTI’s representative Gilang Iskandar, Thursday.
Formerly, the building had been devastated by the Saturday’s quake. “Frankly, we are really grateful for the reconstruction of the orphanage,” said Nur Rohadi, who is also a board of the orphanage.
According to Nur Rohadi, the RCTI assistance distributed through the nahdliyin youth wing is absolutely meaningful for the children living in the orphanage. “Before this building being reconstructed, the children had been living in tents.”
in addition to the installation, the RCTI Care Fund and GP Ansor also gave assistance amounted to Rp.234 million to Al Munawir Islamic Boarding School of Krapyak, Yogyakarta. (si/mad)
