Batam to host world anti-corruption day observance next week

Batam will host World Anti-Corruption Day observance on Dec 7 through 9, 2006, a spokesman said.
"We hope President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will attend the event," Muhammad Agus Fajri, head of the National Corruption Eradication Movement (GNPK) for Riau islands, said here Sunday.
<>He said the event is expected to be attended by more 1,000 guests from across the country.The guests include heads of local administartions or mayors, chief of the National Police, the Attorney General and those who care for corruption eradication in Indonesia.
According to him, representatives of GNPK executive boards from 14 provinces will also attend the observance.
A similar activity was held in Pekalongan, Central Java, last year. (ant/dar)
