Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez arrived on Saturday in this capital for an official visit, accompanied by a large delegation of political, economic, and cultural representatives.
The Venezuelan president´s agenda includes a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mahmud Ahmadineyad on bilateral issues.
<>This new meeting was preceded by the signing of 86 agreements between both countries since 1999.
The University of Tehran will grant Chavez the Decoration of the Islamic Republic of Iran in its first degree, in a solemn meeting.
They have also scheduled the signing of several agreements, on which both nations´ top representatives have been working.
Chavez was welcomed by the Islamic Republic´s Foreign Minister Manucher Mottaki, and Industry and Mining Minister Ali Reza Tahmasbi. (pl/dar)
