Former General Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH A. Hasyim delivered a final material of a series of activities of the NU Leader Cadre Training (PKPNU) throughout Malang having begun since February 2012.<>
The material on the theme of 'Building NU, Building the Nation' was held in his Al Hikam Islamic boarding school (pesantren) in Malang on Sunday (1/6).
The Chairman of Lawmaking Body of PBNU greatly appreciated the various activities in terms of the training of cadres in the NU milieu, saying the Malang's activities should be presented in the regency and provincial level with a more complete format.
"Any way the process of recruiting leaders in the NU milieu at this time is really important, because NU is vital in maintaining the integrity of the Nation," he said.
On that occasion he also told the paricipants that what he was doing at the time of getting the mandate as general chairman of NU was to continue what had been achieved by KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) in the previous period.
"Gus Dur built NU with his good thoughts, high charisma and willingness to go down into the branches and village levels. He was capable of positioning NU as part of Indonesia. While I was just perfecting what he had achieved with the improvement in such areas as organization and operational and administration, "he said.
