NU cadres stand first at Intl. Quran Competition

NU cadres representing Indonesia came in first at the International Quran Competition which ended in the Islamic Republic of Iran recently.
Chairman of the Quran Reciters and Memorizers Association of Nahdlatul Ulama (JQH NU) KH Muhammad Zen told NU Online here on Tuesday (14/2).
"Thanks God, the (Quran) reciters of the JQH NU could stand first in the competition, The male reciter named H.M Ja'far Hasibuan from North Sumatera and the female reciter named Sri Wahyuni from North Kalimantan," Zen said.
He added that the competition was participated by some 35 countries, saying Indonesia sent 8 participants which consist of 4 reciters, 2 memorizers and 2 juries. (nam)
