Slowly, almost imperceptibly over time, NU Online has now marked its 9 year journey since it was launced in the Jakarta's Borobudur Hotel on July 11, 2003 as an information center of the Indonesia's largest Muslim organization.<>
A 9 year journey is not so long to measure the success of a media and not too short, given the fact that many online media have come to an end for no longer being capable of surviving amid unexpected challenges.
Based on public testimonies, the presence of the NU news portal has given many benefits to the people in general and Nahdliyin (NU followers) in particular in regard with the religious views of the ulema organization.
All this is the fruit of solid and strong cooperation from various parties; a solid editorial team, the support of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), the commitment of selfless contributors, advertisers and assistance from other parties.
There will be lots of challenges ahead that must be faced in line with the development of online media in nature. We are committed to continuing to move forward together and with Nahdliyin as well as providing value-added service to our readers within and outside the country.
