Nahdliyin (NU followers) have greatly appreciated to the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) for giving opportunities to NU individuals to study abroad.
Following a memorandum of understanding between the Indonesia's largest Muslim organization and such countries as Taiwan, Algeria, USA and Australia, the would-be scholarship recepients should fulfill administrative requirements. The requirements are as follows:
A. Copy of Diploma / certificate of legalized
2. Copy of legalized last transcript
3. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
4. Latest photographs size 4 x 6 = 10 pieces
5. Recommendations from local NU boards (PWNU, PCNU or MWC)
6. Having a minimum TOEFL score of 500 (up to year 2011)
Special Requirements:
A. Those wishing to apply for a scholarship to the Middle East must have memorized the Quran, at least two chapters to the S-1s, 3 volumes for the S-2s, and 5 volumes for the S-3s.
2. Those wishing to apply for a scholarship to the USA, Taiwan, and Australia, must be able to read the Qur'an properly and correctly according to the rules of recitation / tajwid (oral and written examinations will conducted at the PBNU headquarters)
3. Especially applications to the USA, the requirements mentioned above must be received no later than March 10, 2012. We will not approve any request coming in after the date.
