NU to be more active in international constellation

As the moderate Muslim organization, NU has important roles in handling sectarian conflict in the Middle East countries.
In this respect, NU would reportedly bring the world’s ulama together in a meeting at the Bogor Palace early next month to take up matters dealt with the conflict.<>
”In terms of the conflict in Middle East countries such as Iraq, Palestine, and Syria, NU must not keep silent,” General Chairman of the nahdliyin organization KH Hasyim Muzadi said Saturday.
The leader of the Islamic Boarding ”Pesantren” School Al Hikam Malang further explained that the sectarian conflict could not be overcome through the state intervention due to hidden interests.
“Due to these (interests), the (allies) troop build up in the occupied region through their intelligence operation trigger the increasingly confrontation,” he added. (sbh)
