The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) worked out Thursday (10/8) a closer cooperative program in the developing of social health services especially for nahdliyin (NU followers) living in Islamic boarding “pesantren” schools and social life.
Both sides signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were general chairman of the country’s largest Muslim organization, KH Hasyim Muzadi and director of PT Kimia Farma, Gunawan Pranoto.
Kimia Farma was also expected to give short briefing about management affairs in policlinics of NU outside of the pesantrens.
Hasyim cited that the program was purposefully aimed at giving high quality and comparable cost of the health services.
At the same time, Gunawan Pranoto suggested that as one of state-owned enterprises, PT Kimia Farma just had function to produce medicines to people throughout Indonesia.
For its 35 years old, the PT Kimia Farma has managed 325 pharmacies and 314 units of PT KF across the country.
Gunawan expected through the prospective program, “both PBNU and PT KF would be able to realize qualified medical management and social health services.” (ant/rif)
