The Tawafa Establishment for Non-Arab African Pilgrims Thursday began distributing the locations of its tents in Arafat to its 33 field teams there.
Accordingly, the teams will erect and prepare a total of 19,000 tents to accommodate more than 195,000 pilgrims from 47 Non-Arab African countries.
A member of the establishment's board of directors, Fahd bin Housini Hariri, said the tents that would be assigned for groups of pilgrims would be given serial numbers to ensure the successful implementation of the shuttle service for transporting pilgrims. The establishment will be repeating this program again this year following the success of the system last year.
He said the establishment transported more than 140,000 pilgrims during the previous Haj season using the shuttle service.
Hariri said the tents in Arafat would be spread in such a way to make it easy for each pilgrim to identify his place of accommodation. “Our pilgrims will be able to find their tents in Arafat easily,” he said.
Hariri said four golf carts would be used to transport old and sick pilgrims, who are lost, to their encampments. “The establishment has furnished the tents with about 5,000 rugs and will provide them with more than 10,000 water thermos, 4,500 garbage bins, 4,000 vacuum cleaners, 3,000 fire extinguishers and 5,000 ice containers,” he said.
