When a cleric was instructed

The students and thousands of people attending the funeral of the leader of Lirboyo Islamic boarding school (pesantren) KH Imam Yahya Mahrus simultaneously stopped reciting Surah Al-Ihlas "Qul huwallahu ahad ..." when KH Abdul Aziz Mansyur was standing by holding a microphone, marking an instruction to the deceased (talqin) will soon begin on Sunday (15 / 1) afternoon.

Kiai Aziz representing the family of the deceased asked all those attending the funeral "Are all those present here testified that KH Imam Yahya Mahrus is a good person?". All Simultaneously replied, "Yes (he is really a good person) ..." The noise of the crying was heard from the crowd.

The talqin done after the funeral process was intended to instruct all of the deceased, including clerics (kiai) in order to answer the angels of Munkar and Nakir in the grave. The family requested the vice chairman of lawmaking body of the Indonesia's largest Muslim organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH Musthofa Bisri (Gus Mus) to instruct the deceased.

Gus Mus, the alumnus of Pesantren Lirboyo, told KH Imam Yahya Mahrus already lying, soon there came angels. "Do not be afraid, they are God's creatures, just like us. Answer their questions correctly, "said Gus Mus instructing the deceased Kyai Imam. "If asked who is your Lord then say Allahu Rabbi (Allah is my Lord), when asked who is your prophet, then answer, Muhammad  Rasulullah ..." and so on. All readings of the talqin were in Arabic.

Then the funeral prayer was led by the NU senior figure who is also the alumnus of Pesantren Lirboyo, KH Maimun Zubair. While the prayer for the deceased was led by the leader of Pesantren Denanyar Jombang KH Masyhuri Aziz

Present also at the burial were gerenal chairman of the entral Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Said Aqil Siradj, chairman of lawmaking body (syuriyah) of the East Java's Regional Board of NU KH Miftahul Ahyar. (nam)
