In an age of social media littered fully with the latest and mot sophisticated technology, everything is possible. However, it is also often misused by irresponsible and defiant individuals.

Among the most common things are  defamation that is a false statement communicated to someone else with the result to damage one's reputation or good name. And this this case, it is addressed to one of the NU charismatic ulema (Muslim scholars) KH Ahmad Mustafa Bisri, popularly known as Gus Mus.

The leader of Raudlatut Thalibin Islamic boarding school (pesantren) Rembang Central Java, was slandered at an introduction of the Declaration of National Revolutionary Council (DRN) 2016 by misusing his name posted on a facebook account in the name of Bambang Tri.

It was not true and is a slander. Gus Mus having been misused his name and made the object of slander did deny the report via his facebook account. Gus Mus said:

"How could one made (the defiant statement) and many have believed it. What mistakes I made. How could one who knew nothing about me people involved myself in their interest," Gus Mus said.

Similarly his daughter, Ienas Tsuroiya, was also deeply concerned about the slanderous statement, saying that his father and family have been mourning after the death of Mrs. Nyai Fatma

"I do not believe it, why anyone could do it. Please, my father has been still mourning," she said on her personal facebook page, adding that she did deplore the malicious and irresponsible statement.

"O my God, forgive them, may God show them (the straight path)," Gus Mus said. (Sindikasi Media/Masdar)
