Islamic New Year 1443 H falls on Tuesday August 10, 2021

The beginning of the Islamic new year 1443 H falls on Monday (9/8) tonight. The Nahdlatul Ulama Falakiyah Institute (LF NU) announced it after receiving reports from NU observers who had not been able to sight the the Muharram moon 1443 H on Sunday (8/8) afternoon.

 

"The beginning of the Muharram moon 1443 H coincides with Tuesday Pon August 10, 2021 AD (starting Tuesday night) on an istikmal basis (the previous month was complected to 30 days)," Chairman of LF NU KH Sirril Wafa, said through an announcement letter signed on Sunday (8 /8).

 

In welcoming the Islamic new year 1443 H, the Muslims are encouraged to offer prayers at the end of the year and the beginning of the year. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Khayyath Al-Harusyi wrote the prayer in his book, Al-Fathul Mubin wad Durrut Tsamin. Here's the prayer.

 

Prayers for the end of the year:

اَللّٰهُمُّ ا لْتُ لٍ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ ا عَنْهُ لَمْ لَمْ لُمْتَ لَيَّ لَى لَى ا ال اءَتِيْ لَيْكَ، لهم ل ل لمِنْهُ لِيْ لهم لِيْ لهم لهم لهم لهم لهم

لَيْهِ الثَّوَابَ لْهُ لَا ائِيْ ا ا الرَّاحِمِيْنَ. اَللهم لِّ لَى ا عَدَدَ ا ​​لْمِ اللهِ ا امَ لْكُ اللهِ

 

"O Allah, the deeds that I have done this year from the many deeds that You have prevented me from them, which You are not pleased with them, which I have forgotten but You have not. forget, You have been wise to me even though you are actually able to punish me, You call on me to repent after my recklessness (disobedient) to You, O Allah, I really ask for forgiveness from you from these deeds, so forgive me. O Allah, and the deeds that I did in that year which You were pleased with and which You promised reward and forgiveness for them, so accept that deeds from me, and do not give up my hope in You, O the Most Gracious, O the Most Merciful from the lovers. May Allah bestow blessings on Sayyidina Muhammad as much as what is in Allah's knowledge as long as His kingdom lasts."

 

Prayer for the beginning of the year:

 اللهم أنت الأبدي الإله القديم الأول, وعلى فضلك العظيم وكريم جودك العميم المعول, وهذا عام جديد قد أقبل, أسألك العصمة فيه من الشيطان وأوليائه, والعون على هذه النفس الأمارة بالسوء والأعمال, والاشتغال بما يقربني إليك زلفى, يا ذا الجلال والإكرام. لُكَ ا ا ا لَهَا افِيَةٍ ا الرَّاحِمِيْنَ. لَّى اللهُ لَى ا لَى لِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيمَا

 

"O Allah, You are the Eternal Essence, the One Who Becomes God, the Most Qadim, the First One. The only thing that humans rely on is Your great grace and Your glorious mercy. This new year has arrived. In it I ask You for protection from Satan and his lovers, ask for help from the lust of anger that commands evil and various bad deeds, and ask to be busy with activities that can bring me closer to You as close as possible, O the most great and the most exalted. I beseech you from the good of this year, ask for your protection from the bad of this year. I ask for the sufficiency of its expenses and busyness in health by Your grace, O the Most Gracious of all lovers. May Allah bestow peace and blessings upon Sayyidina Muhammad, his family and companions."
