Ali Maschan optimistic he will pass first round

General chairman candidate of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Ali Maschan Moesa is optimistic he will past the first round of the general chairman election.
Maschan said that there would be four names who can go through the next round in winning the general chairman race.<>
"The four names are probably KH Solahuddin Wahid (Gus Sholah), KH Said Aqil Siradj, KH Ahmad Bagdja and me myself," Maschan said.
He said that other candidates such as Slamet Effendy Yusuf would meet difficulties like requirements set forth in the congress.
The professor at the Surabaya's High Institute of Islamic Studies added that there would also be other candidates considerably being engaged in negative issues, without mentioning the candidates' names.
Maschan expressed his readiness to come to the race for being supported by some regional and regency level boards across the country, but he didn't give no details which regions willing give their vote for him in the much-awaited congress. (ant/nam)
