Cadres of the Ansor Youth Movement (GP Ansor) should not only be proud of having a prominent figure KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) but they should also be capable of following the struggle of ideals of the teacher of the nation.
Chairman of the NU chapter of Jati, Kudus, KH Ahmad Sudardi made the remarks as addressing an inauguration of the GP Ansor of Jati for the period 2009-2012 at Getas Pejaten village, Jati, Kudus, over the weekend.<>
He said that the cadres of Ansor should also take into account of what having so far been struggled by the late Gus Dur in dealing with the rigid understanding of ideology towards the intellectuality of what called as Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (Aswaja).
KH Sudardi further explained that there had been many good examples from Gus Dur that can expectedly followed by the cadres of Ansor such as building the character of human through democratic, pluralistic and dialogical approaches.
"We have been given such lessons from Gus Dur in which in dealing with a problem (for instance), he has always focused more on his thoughts rather than physical strength,"he said.
He expected the cadres of Ansor to patiently preserve the ideology of NU, namely Aswaja fromany threat posed by other parties and outsiders.
"For the sake of defending the Aswaja ideology, we have to have the courage in showing our strength to fight so that the Aswaja (teachings) can easily be evolved," he said.
Present at the occasion were figures of such NU organizations as GP Ansor, Muslimat NU, IPNU (NU Students Association), and so on. (adb)
