Gus Dur to introduce Ahmady as candidate of East Java's governor

General Chairman of the Advisory Council of the People Awakening Party (PKB) KH Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid publicly introduced Ahmady as the candidate of governor of East Java having officially been nominated by his party.
Gus said he was proud of the candidacy of Ahmady and his running mate Suhartono and called on branch boards of the party to vote for the prospective hopefuls.<>
According to Gus Dur, Both Ahmady and Suhartono were honest figures and could expectedly bring the wind of change in the province.
"The governor candidate of (East Java) is Ahmady and the deputy governor is Suhartono," Gus Dur was quoted by detikcom as saying here on Sunday (27/4).
In the meantime, Ahmady called on all sides and especially branch boards of the PKB to support him in coming race that would reportedly be held on 23 July. (rif)
