Hasyim: NU's parliamentarians should contribute to NU

General chairman of the central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Hasyim Muzadi said that NU cadres willing to take part in politics and be parliament members should be able to contribute to NU.
Hasyim made the statement as receiving NU cadres requesting feedback and suggestions in terms of their willingness to be legislative members at the PBNU headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday (21/5).<>
He hoped those being able find their way to the House building to struggle for Nahdliyin (NU followers) interests through state budget or regulations instead of money.
In the meantime, Hasyim said that scores of names having formerly been recommended by the PBNU to be parliament members or government officials had been far from their clearly pronounced commitment.
"They come again to the PBNU if they were in problems. I have even memorized (their names). That's why I would not easily support those facing problems or being in conflict," Hasyim said. (mkf)
