Hasyim: Take up lebaran issues with insightful views

General Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama KH Hasyim Muzadi said that in dealing with the determination of this year’s idul fitri, the most important thing that should first and foremost be considered was the interest of Indonesian Muslims as a whole.
The caretaker of the Malang’s Al Hikam Islamic boarding “Pesantren” school called on all parties participating in a dialogue, held at the NU headquarters, Jakarta, Tuesday, to take up lebaran issues with insightful views without any willingness to force their own views.<>
“We hope, there will be no a debate,” Hasyim said, adding that the debate would potentially be such a fierce argument battle.
The dialogue was attended by figures of the Nahdliyin Based organization (NU), Muhammadiyah, amd Ministry of Religious Affairs such as KH Ghozalie Masroeri (chairman of NU Committee of Astrology/Lajnah Falakiyah), Abdul Fatah Wibisono (Muhammadiyah), KH Nazaruddin Umar (Director General for Islamic Guidance at the Religious Affairs Ministry who is also Secretary of NU Supreme “Syuriyah” Council).
While, Nazzaruddin Umar expected the scholarly meeting would be the beginning of the following meetings.
”Next meeting would be held at Muhammadiyah. This meeting would not only take up issues on lebaran, but it would also be routine meetings discussing many things,” he said. (dar)
