The government is monitoring and studying the contents of secret documents of the US government spread in the Wikileaks website, especially those related to Indonesia, a cabinet minister said.
"We will gather and study them. Right now we are still gathering them and some of them are categorized confidential while others are not and some may be considered quite sensitive. We will gather them first," Communications and Informatics Minister Tifatul Sembiring said here on Friday after accompanying President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at a meeting with Forbes Media CEO Steve Forbes.

Tifatul said the results of the gathering work would later be reported to a special team under the coordination of the coordinating minister for political, security and legal affairs.
When asked if the government would issue clarifications on the documents later, the minister said "information (in the Wikileaks) is kept by the US but hacked by Wikileaks. Not all of it is true. If it is true, if it is propaganda, we should certainly respond."
He however said that the materials circulated in the Wikileaks were not secret information nor from Indonesian docuemnts but secrets about Indonesia kept by the US.
"It is not (Indonesian) state secrets. It is said they come from the US embassy in Jakarta," he said as quoted by Antara.
Foreign Minsiter Marty Natalegawa and Tifatul have been ordered to monitor the contents in the Wikileaks website by the coordinating minister for political, security and legal affairs Djoko Suyanto.
It has been reported that Wikileaks planned to disloce memos from US embassies that highlighted Indonesian defense including rumors about Kopassus (army`s special unit) that will cooperate again with the US military.
The leaks of the US secret documents by the Wilileaks have continued inviting media attention especially in countries that feel harmed by them. (dar)
