Vice President Jusuf Kalla strongly denied accusations that he had criticized the incumbent government over certain policies.
"I never criticize the government; I only point out the solution [to certain problems]," he told a gathering of over 1000 people, from farmers and fishermen to Muslim clerics, in An Nashuha Islamic boarding school in Losari, West Java on Tuesday.<>
"I only wanted to correct the wrong input from other officials, because not all government officials have the correct opinions,"
Kalla made the statement while answering a question from a fisherman during tjhe dialogue.
Kalla, the chairman of the Golkar Party who is also vying for the presidential post in the July 8 election, is on a state visit to Central Java province to meet groups of farmers and young people. (jp/dar)
