The leader of Asrama Perguruan Islam (API) Islamic boarding school (pesantren) KH Abdurrahman Khudlori (Mbah Dur) passed away at Lestari hospital at 12.45 local time on Monday.
The news on the Mbah Dur's death spread via twitter, facebook, SMS, and phones. While NU Online received the news from deputy chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Lukman H Syaifuddin via a social network, twitter.r />
"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun, KH Abdurrahman Khudlori (Tegalrejo, Magelang) passed away at 12.40 local time, Al-Fatihah," Lukam who is also politician of the United Development Party (PPP) wrote.
Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) of Magelang Muhammad Achadi also sent the news of the Mbah Dur's dead through SMS messages, saying "Mbah Dur passed away at 12.45," said Sukur who is also an alumnus of the Pesantren Tegalrejo.
Mbah Dur was a religious leader, a great Islamic figure of Nahdlatul Ulama, as well as a declarer of the PKB. He is survived by a wife, Hj Faizah binti Muthohar and six children, namely Nasrul Arif, Akhmad Izzuddin, Kuni Sa'adati, Nur Kholida, Linatun Nafisah, Zaimatus Sofia and five grand children. (kra/hh)
