Khofifah: There have been possible efforts to deconstruct NU role

Ahead of the NU 32nd Congress in South Sulawesi, there have been viewpoints related to a 'right' figure that is 'eligible' to lead the country's largest Muslim organization.
In this regard, chairwoman of the Muslimat NU Khofifah Indar Parawansa called on all parties to give appropriate analyses by understanding the nature of NU.<>
The various emerging analyses in regard with a certain figure, according to Khofifah, were considerably part of efforts to deconstruct the role of NU. For that reason, she called on those who know nothing about NU to keep silent.
"Do not make analyses which are in turn absurd for Nahdliyin (NU followers)," Khofifah said on the sidelines of an event in Surabaya recently.
Khofifah did not mention a certain figure appropriate to lead the Nahdliyin based organization, saying that the figure should have commitment and capacity to serve the ummah because NU is grassroot based organization. (min)
