Muslimat NU expected to vote for Nahdliyin presidential candidate

The individuals of Muslimat NU throughout Indonesia would expectedly give their vote for Nahdliyin presidential candidate in the presidential election which would be held on 8 July ahead.
Chairman of Muslimat NU Khofifah Indar Parawansa made the remarks on the sidelines of the Annual Meeteing of Muslimat NU at Celebes Convention Center (CCC), Makassar, South Sulawesi on Thursday (28/5).<>
Usually, Nahdliyin (NU followers) are not far from their 'habitat' (NU), Khofifah told reporters in dealing with the presidential hopeful expected by Muslimat NU.
Khofifah said that Muslimat NU would elect presidential candidate giving his more attention to NU followers in general, adding that the coming of Jusuf Kalla (JK) was part of his attention to Nahdliyin.
"I think if Pak JK comes (to the Muslimat NU annual meeting), that is part of his attention to NU followers," Khofifah said.
Today (29/5) vice president Jusuf Kalla will reportedly open the Muslimat NU annual meeting.
In addition to being nominated as presidential candidate by Golkar and the People’s Conscience Party (Hanura), JK is also NU follower. He was born and grew up in a NU family and even he has now still been mandated as Supreme Council of the NU Regional Board of South Sulawesi.
Khofifah denied allegations that the annual meeting was held to give directions to Muslimat NU followers to give their support for a certain presidential/vice presidential candidate pair. (rif)
