Religious Affairs Minister said during the meeting that both astronomical calculations ( hisab) and moon sightings observation (rukyah) has confirmed the date .
Muhammadiyah, the country’s second largest Muslim organization, has set Sunday (Sept. 20) as this year’s Idul Fitri date based on its own hisab.
Teams from NU and other major groups deployed in several parts across the country for moon sightings observation reported they have seen the new moon on Saturday afternoon. (jp/dar)
