Nahdliyin (NU followers) are expected to use their voting rights and not to abstain from voting (golput) in the legislative elections on 9 April ahead. The golput can damage NU institutionally and Nahdliyin themselves.
NU hopefuls are told to be committed to struggling the NU aspirations in the legislative level. At this point, Nahdliyin must be selective in voting for the legislative hopefuls.<>
"NU keeps the same distance from all political parties, whatever your party, please elect the legislative candidates that capable of giving advantages to NU," said chairman of the Brebes chapter of NU, H Athoillah as consolidating relationships between the Losari's Chapter of NU and NU legislative candidates at NU Islamic Senior High, Losari, Brebes on Sunday.
Athoillah said the legislative candidates were really in need of NU because de facto NU is a very significant grass root level organization.
Present at the occasion were legislative candidates such as KH Masrip (PPP), ABdul Aziz (PPP), Andy Najmi Fuadi (PKNU), Kholid Mawardi (PKNU), Moh. Natsir (PKNU), and Hj. Munifah (PKB). (was)
